“[...] Quand’ero ragazzino, (Rita Pavone ) mi piaceva tantissimo. Mi colpiva il personaggio. Ricordo che riuscì a reggere il confronto con Barbra Streisand, che è tutto dire visto il genere musicale.
Mi piaceva perché si cimentava anche con un repertorio americano che amavo molto, quello dei gruppi vocali femminili, e non erano molte le cantanti italiane che sperimentavano in quel modo."
[..] " Mi dispiace che la sua svolta di cantautrice, nel senso più personale, meno legato alla canzone leggera, sia stata a volte un po’ sottovalutata.
L’ho vista in televisione, e mi sembra che abbia delle cose da dire,
che sia interessante la sua nuova dimensione per un’artista che era partita in modo più “leggero“.

[...] ‘When I was a boy, I was a huge fan [of Rita Pavone]. I was struck by her personality – she could hold her own with Barbra Streisand, and there’s no higher praise in the music world.
I also liked the fact that her repertoire extended to the American female bands which I loved: not many of our Italian female singers experimented like that’.
[..] ‘I’m sorry her decision to move into singer-songwriting sometimes hasn’t been given it’s full due, probably because it’s less directly linked with pop. I’ve seen her on television, and it seems to me she’s got something well worth saying: it’s an intriguing, weightier dimension for an artist who started out in “light” music’.
